After your hair
transplant procedure :
1. Drink plenty of fluids
for the first two days after your procedure. You must avoid
alcohol for the first three days.
2. Keep your head elevated
as much as possible for the first week. Avoid bending down
with your head lowered for the first week.
3. Sleep with your head
elevated, either by elevating the head of your bed about
four inches or by using several pillows for the first three
days.
4. You can use Tylenol™,
Advil™ or Motrin™ for pain. You must not use
any products that contain Aspirin™ (ASA).
5. You can place ice over
your forehead or the back of your head. Do not place ice
directly on the transplanted hair.
6. You must wash your
hair daily until all the scabs fall off.
a. Use any regular shampoo;
b. Do not rub the hair transplants with
your nails;
c. Pat dry, do not rub;
d. You can use a hair dryer at a low
heat setting;
e. Should you accidentally remove a hair
transplant, there might be slight bleeding. Apply direct
pressure for a few minutes with a clean towel.
7. It is normal for the
transplanted hair to fall out in the first two to four weeks.
Do not worry, new hair will begin to grow and become visible
two to three months following your procedure.
8. You can resume all
your usual activities the second day after your transplant.
9. Do not perform any
vigorous exercise for the first week after your transplant.
Do not swim underwater until the crusts fall off.
10. You can resume using
Rogaine™ or minoxidil five days after your transplant.
